THANK YOU CITY CENTER REHAB!!! 🥰🥰🙏 The City Center Rehabilitation 2026 5K Walk/Run Fundraiser that took place on June 20th had a terrific turnout! Pantry volunteers had so much fun seeing everyone and directing traffic for the participants! There were over 100 entries that participated in the event which raised $5,200.00 for the Illinois Valley Food Pantry's building fund campaign. Food donations were also collected during this event and 94# of food was collected for the pantry! A huge THANK YOU to Steve Korsan and his wonderful team for coordinating this event and making it so successful. Thank you also to everyone that participated in the event to help the Illinois Valley Food Pantry! We are so blessed and grateful for the love and continuous support from our wonderful community! WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT TO FEED OUR CHILDREN!!! 🙏🙏🙏 The Illinois Valley Food Pantry's "Feed Our Children" summer program is only halfway through the program and, we have already provided additional breakfast, lunch and snack items to 485 children in our community! This is already 40 more children than this time last year! We are running low on food supplies for this program!!! We are in need of JELLY, SYRUP, CEREAL, CANNED MEALS (examples: spaghetti-o's, spaghetti, ravioli's, mac & cheese, etc.), We also need monetary donations in order to purchase perishable items that are included in the orders for the program. Please help the Illinois Valley Food Pantry with our "Feed Our Children" summer program! You may drop off your donations at 4133 Progress Blvd., in Peru. Donations are accepted Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 8:00AM - Noon and Wednesdays from 8:00AM - 6:00PM. THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR SUPPORT!!!
It was a very successful day at the annual "Feed Our Children" Food Drive that was held on Friday, May 22nd at the Peru HyVee! Our community was very supportive for this cause and, with the help from our wonderful sponsors and volunteers, the pantry raised 1,510 pounds of food along with $1,084.07 in monetary donations! 👏👍🫶 Thank you to our sponsors who help make this food drive a success! The annual NALC "Stamp Out Hunger" Food Drive that was held on Saturday, May 9th was a huge success for the Illinois Valley Food Pantry! A whopping total of 3,302 pounds of food was collected for the pantry. A big heartfelt thank you to all of our local postal workers who collected the food items and assisted in this food drive! The pantry was busy receiving and sorting the food items that were collected. Thanks to several wonderful volunteers from O'Neal Steele, we were able to get through most of the receiving and sorting process of the donations on Saturday. Thank You O'Neal Steele volunteers!! 🥰🤗😃 The work continued on Monday, with pantry staff and volunteers finishing up the receiving and sorting process. A special THANKS goes out to our generous community for supporting this wonderful, much needed cause! 😍🥰🤗
WHAT A WAY TO START THE NEW YEAR!!! With the government cutbacks, recent SNAP program issues and the holiday expenses, our community not only stepped up to help the Illinois Valley Food Pantry get through all of that, but you also still helped raise our thermometer for our building fund!!!
