Feed the Need 2024

Supporting the Illinois Valley Food Pantry – Dec. 1 – Dec. 31, 2023

As the holiday season approaches, communities often come together to give back to those in need. This December, the Feed the Need! Miller Group Charitable Trust has partnered with Starved Rock Media to offer an incredible opportunity for local residents to make a significant impact. From December 1 through December 31, 2023, every donation made to the Illinois Valley Food Pantry will be matched, dollar for dollar, thanks to this special matching donation campaign.

Why It Matters

In the Illinois Valley, the Illinois Valley Food Pantry has been a beacon of hope for families and individuals facing food insecurity. The pantry works tirelessly to provide nutritious meals to those in need, helping ensure that no one in our community goes hungry. However, with demand for food assistance increasing, especially during the colder months, the pantry’s resources are stretched thin.

The Feed the Need! Miller Group Charitable Trust matching donation campaign is a powerful way to maximize community support for the food pantry. With Starved Rock Media generously matching each donation, contributions made during this period will go twice as far in supporting the pantry’s mission.

How It Works

  • Donate: Individuals and businesses can donate to the Illinois Valley Food Pantry anytime from December 1 through December 31, 2023.
  • Matching Funds: For every dollar donated, the Miller Group Charitable Trust will match that donation—doubling the impact of your contribution.
  • Goal: The goal is to raise as much as possible to help the Illinois Valley Food Pantry provide food and other essential resources to local families in need during this critical time of year.

Where and How to Donate

  1. Online: Visit the Illinois Valley Food Pantry’s website to make a secure online donation. A link will be provided on the pantry’s homepage for easy access.
  2. By Mail: Donations can also be mailed directly to the Illinois Valley Food Pantry. Please make checks payable to the Illinois Valley Food Pantry and note “Matching Donation Campaign” in the memo line to ensure your gift is matched.

Impact of Your Donation

  • $25 becomes $50, helping provide a week’s worth of groceries for a family of four.
  • $50 becomes $100, providing critical pantry staples like canned vegetables, grains, and protein.
  • $100 becomes $200, covering the cost of holiday meal boxes for multiple families.
  • $250 becomes $500, enabling the pantry to purchase fresh produce and dairy items to supplement pantry shelves.

Together, with the support of the Miller Group Charitable Trust and Starved Rock Media, your generosity will help feed hundreds of local families in need this holiday season.

A Community Effort

This matching donation campaign is not just about raising funds; it’s about showing the power of community collaboration. As we all come together to support the Illinois Valley Food Pantry, we send a powerful message of hope and solidarity. Whether through donations, volunteer work, or spreading the word, each act of kindness helps brighten the lives of those who are struggling.

Let’s make this December one to remember. By giving generously and participating in the Feed the Need! matching donation campaign, we can ensure that our neighbors in the Illinois Valley have the food and resources they need to thrive this holiday season and beyond.
